Local bikers, come check out the first ever New England Bicycle Expo at the Armory in Somerville May 7-8. There will be exhibits by local bike companies, bike swapping, presentations, and several group rides all day Sat and Sunday.
Of particular interest to our readers, we’ll be co-hosting a “Family Bike Show & Tell” on Saturday, May 7 from 10-12 (a carefully selected pre-nap time!). Come show off your gear, compare notes with other family bikers, and see what other families are riding in person.
We’ll also be speaking on a Carfree Panel Discussion on Saturday afternoon at 3:00, and there are many other great events throughout both days. See a schedule of events here.
If you know for certain you’ll be coming to the family bike event Saturday morning, consider dropping us a line to let us know what you’ll be riding at carfreewithkids at gmail. We’re trying to get a sense of the overall representation we’ll have of the biking options out there.
Hope to see you there!
On a different note, if you are looking for some further carfree family inspiration, check out this podcast with Adam and Jodie Rust, carfree parents of two in Portland Oregon.

This sounds great! I wish we could ride out there to join you but I worry that it’s too far of a bike trip. The longest we’ve gone is 10 miles round trip (and Bird usually falls asleep during some of that).

I just found out that children 10 & under are free with a parent.
Looking forward to seeing you all there this weekend.
Great seeing you at the expo today!
